Perfect for fans of Stranger Things.”

“Roysdon’s THAT OCTOBER takes readers on a wild, fun ride filled with ’80s nostalgia and a small-town murder mystery with a little espionage thrown in. His teen Sherlocks are easy to root for as they find themselves in the middle of a crime much bigger than they thought. Perfect for fans of Stranger Things.”

” THAT OCTOBER is filled with ’80s intrigue and nostalgia”

“A diverting read, and the allusions to ’80s culture really added to the general vividness of this exploration of a devastating small-town crime through the lens of multi-layered social prejudice. THAT OCTOBER is filled with ’80s intrigue and nostalgia, while the clear and crisp narration made the setting and mystery still all too modern and relevant. My favorite part of this book is the depiction of friendship between young women struggling to make sense of the insane and often violent world around them-I was rooting for the ‘E sisters’ right up to the end!”

An Engaging and Enjoyable Read

That October is a pleasure to read. The characters are likable and it’s easy to get caught up enough in their world that you might just worry a little when they face trouble or even a little danger. The plot is not simplistic, and while there are some unexpected twists and turns, it is not convoluted or needlessly complex simply for the sake of being complicated. If all that weren’t enough, there are a couple of moments of very well written tense creepiness.
